`Whoah there horsey!` A Stupider Fence


Britney Spears` pop video Oops I Did It Again (2000) features the surprise arrival of a spaceman on what appears to be the red planet of Mars where he discovers Britney Spears in a red pilot`s suit sing and dancing with her troupe. `Mission Control` directs the spaceman, `Mars Lander`, through his spacesuit camera attached to the side of his spacehelmet and he begins to explore. Finding an artifact in the Martian sands, he ejaculates:


`Whoah there horsey!`


 It`s a miniature of Britney Spears painted on a flat stone, which looks like a `cookie` and, as computer `geeks` know, `cookies` are website codes that give access to the visitor or guest and, `Open Sesame!` Britney`s domain appears rising out of the desert with a roar. The spaceman gapes in wonder, `What the ..!` As it were, `through an glass darkly`, the audience is able to perceive the huge towers of some vast structure mirrored in the visor of the spaceman`s helmet as it surges heavenwards from the Martian sands.

In Britney Spears` Oops I Did It Again she hoists her spaceman above herself in a white bikini dress so he can film the alien and send pictures back to `Mission Control`.  Descending inside her giant ring at the commencement of Oops I Did It Again Britney Spears is merging two Gerry Anderson TV 21 characters from British TV series, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, that ran from 29 September 1967 to 14 May 1968. Even though the result is perdition for the evil and heaven for the good.



 In Gerry Anderson`s Joe 90 puppet series for British television which ran from 29 September 1968 to 20 April 1969 the central protagonist, Joe McClaine, 9 years old, descends onto the set inside a spinning orb much in the way that Britney Spears descends onto her set in Oops I Did It Again inside a giant ring. Joe 90 was labeled `Spy-fi`, which means an incorporation of the spy and science fiction genres. The concept of Joe 90 was role play because the schoolboy was able to program himself with the skills needed to perform any role using the technological device represented by the giant spinning ball inside which he descended onto the set in the opening credits to each show.



 In Oops I Did It Again Britney Spears is endeavouring to incorporate elements of the `secret agent` and scifi `role play`.  Her spaceman`s camera eye captures her in the white bikini dress, which in terms of Supermarionation would have her corresponding to the figure of Colonel White in Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, and `Mission Control` spy on Britney Spears` every move through the camera eye attached to the astronaut`s spacesuit. Although we`d assume that `Mission Control` are opbserving from Earth, it seems as if they`re actually inside the spaceman`s head and are watching through his retina. His camera is filming, but isn`t sending pictures back to Earth. They`re being relayed directly through the retina of the spaceman to `Mission Control` inside his skull.



 Gerry Anderson`s Supermarionation studios tested many of its ideas for productions through its British children`s comic, TV 21, and the notion of a crew inside the head of the character isn`t unusual to British comics. In the Beano, the Numskulls are:


Brainy who controls Edd's brain and is the head of the numbskulls.

Blinky who controls Edd`s sight/eyes.

Radar who controls his hearing/ears.

Nosey who controls his smell/nose.

Cruncher who controls his mouth/taste.



 In the developmental psychology of Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) the four functions of `Thinking, Sensation, Feeling and Intuition` are associated with the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, which accords with the Numskulls` functioning under the control of Brainy in the Beano comic.



 In the TV 21 puppet series Thunderbirds, which ran from 30 September 1965 to 25 December 1966 featured International Rescue and its unique vehicular transportation, Thunderbirds 1 through 5, which are an Earth rocket, a heavy transporter complete with detachable pod, a spaceship, a submarine (or other equipment) designed to be delivered in the pod by the heavy transporter, and an orbiting  space station, Thunderbird 1 is distinctive for its red nose cone, which corresponds to the sense of smell or `Intuition` in the Jungian schemata of the four functions of consciousness, and the notion of the crew of Britney`s spaceman`s `Mission Control` as Beano style `Numskulls` is supported by the figure of Brains in the Thunderbirds TV 21 series, who appears to be played by the `Mission Control` character in Britney Spears` Oops I Did It Again who asks at the outset:


`Earth to Mars lander. Report status please.`



 The spaceman replies that there`s `98% oxygen`, which means he can speak with his mouth, and so has the `Feeling` function, while `gravity is effective`, so he can walk easily, and has the `Sensation` function, because he`s reading his suit display life support monitoring equipment, and `Sensation` is associated with the eyes. Discovering a miniature engraved cameo picture of Britney Spears in the sand proves the astronaut has `vision`, which means that `Intuition` is the function to be examined in the course of the `program`.



 Breathing takes place through the nose, that is, `Intuition`, which is the superior function if it is the one most closely related to the ego. Represented by the figure corresponding to the Thunderbirds character of Brains in the TV 21 series, and Edd `the head` in the Numskulls cartoon strip from the British Beano comic, Britney`s ego appears foremost, and similarly bespectacled and geeky, amongst the crew of `Mission Control` as they monitor her through his visual display.



 In her red plastic one piece pilot`s suit, Britney represents either the red nose cone of the Earth rocket Thunderbird 1, which would indicate her role as `Intuition`, and in Jungian psychology the spear is a symbol of `Intuition` in accordance with interpretations of the Grail legends constructed by Marie Louise Franz and Emma Jung, Carl`s daughter. According to Jungian psychology, the doubling of a motif indicates differentiation of the function, and so spears denotes functional differentiation. In Gerry Anderson`s Thunderbirds, Thunderbird 3 is an entirely red spaceship, and so Britney Spears in her red plastic one piece pilot`s suit could represent Thunderbird 3, and differentiation of the functions represented by Thunderbird 1, that is, `Intuition`, and Thunderbird 3, which can`t be the mouth or `Feeling` because Thunderbird 2, the heavy transporter, corresponds to the mouth.



 The mouth is duplex insofar as it takes in nourishment and speaks, and it`s associated with `Feeling` because it contains Thunderbird 4 in the belly of its `pod`. Thunderbird 4 corresponds to the inferior or subconscious shadow function, because it`s a submarine, and so denotes subvocalization, which corresponds to prayers, and is appropriate for those enclosed beneath the sea in a submarine. In Jungian psychology, the unconscious is represented as an ocean that contains the archetypes of the collective imagination, which appear in dreams, art and culture as the impulse engines of human development.



 Prayer is the method for constellating the archetypes, and the Virgin Mary is represented as the soul or anima figure that mediates as a psychopomp between the ego that needs to develop and the unconscious `Self` that prompts it with material disseminated by the anima, which is called by Jesus, in the New Testament, the Holy Spirit/Paraclete, `teacher, guide, comforter and helpmeet`. In any differentiation of the inferior or subconscious shadow function, the spirit must be transformed, which in Catholicism is symbolized by the Communion service, where the `bread and wine` are Jesus` `body and blood` from the `Last Supper` before his crucifixion, death, Resurrection and Ascension to heaven.



 Jesus` Ascension denotes the technological development required for the human species to travel beyond Earth, which necessitates the transformation of what Jungian psychology terms the shadow-anima complex, that is, the `bread and wine` of the Catholic Communion service, which is symbolically Jesus` `body and blood`, and denotes the prayerful supplicant`s acceptance of the spiritualized soul or anima as the archetype of the diver which brings to the surface of the mind material to assist in conscious development from the ocean of the unconscious `Self`. In Oops I Did It Again Britney`s spaceman presents her with a gift:


`But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end?`



 The allusion is to the Titanic (1997) movie in which Rose dropped the blue heart-shaped diamond pendant, `the heart of the ocean`, into the sea at the place where the sunken ship Titanic, that had hit an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Liverpool to New York in 1911, had sunk. Britney`s spaceman replies:


`Well I went down and got it for you baby.`



 In typical Joe 90 style his `program` is to be both diver and astronaut. He`s the hero archetype of the ego who, as the diver, descends into the depths of the unconscious `Self` to develop the archetypal content, with the help of the anima or soul, into consciousness. As the spaceman he signifies space technology resulting from the transformation of instinctual libido and the shadow/inferior function, which in Oops I Did It Again is represented as `Feeling` in prayerful speech:


`You see my problem is this:

Wishing that heroes, they truly exist.

Can't you see I'm a fool,

 Because eyes, ears, nose and mouth correspond to the four functions of consciousness, that is, `Thinking, Sensation, Feeling and Intuition`, to `lose all my senses`, as Britney sings, suggests that what is `just so typically me` refers to Carl Jung`s 1913 discussion of the Theory Of Psychological Types (1971) in which Jung posits that individuals are either `Thinking`, `Sensation`, `Feeling` or `Intuition` types.  In Jungian psychology the spirit of a woman is her animus, which is described as a `throng of male admirers`, and in Oops I Did It Again Britney is `wishing that heroes, they truly exist` but she`s a `crying fool` because she knows that heroes don`t exist.



 Jung`s analysis of alchemy discovered many images associated with the hermaphrodite, which is a symbol encountered along the way to the production of the lapis philosophorum as the `stone of the wise`, that is, the developed ego. Abel represents development and Cain is the killer of development because he doesn`t want Abel to see that Cain develops Abel for his inventiveness and then kills him when Cain is ready to pick and choose from Abel`s developed civilizational, cultural and artistic product, which is what happens with the fuit of woman`s womb and that`s why she`s enslaved by Cain, who doesn`t want her to see. The third leg in the evening is Cain, because he`s Oedipus` shadow following him to pick off the fruits of his endeavours by killing him.



 In the developmental psychology of Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) the shadow is perceivable by means of what Jung calls the `projection making factor`, which is the perception of the individual that he doesn`t like someone for no discernible reason. British actor and director, Colin Welland (1934-),1 was most famous for his acceptance speech for Chariots Of Fire (1981) at the Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards` ceremony in Hollywood, Babylon, for the Oscars, the golden statuettes awarded to its luminaries in  the movie making business. George III of England`s `redcoats` were the soldiers of the British Empire feared and hated by the colonists in what became the United States of America during the War Of Independence (1775-1783).  A wiser Colin Welland would have understood that the Americans never stop fighting the British because they represent enslavement to the United States. In his Oscar speech Welland borrowed a line from Henry Wadsworth Longellow`s poem, `Paul Revere`s Ride` (1860), which commemorated the American revolutionary`s April 18, 1775, warning to the beleaguered. Written on the eve of the American Civil War (1861-5), which was the war to end slavery, Longfellow`s exhortation was to the Union against the rebel Southern States where the remnants of the British Empire were still embracing enslavement:


`The British are coming!`2

 Colin Welland would have been better advised to say, `The Son of Man is Coming` in the United States.  Oedipus loses his senses at the start when he `accidentally` kills his father, Laius, unrecognized. Because the victim tied to a chair is a prototypical torture scene, Britney Spears` wooden chair is the level of development and functionality she must escape from and so the knight must pray for her, but he`s entombed her at the car level of technology, which she is now expected to feel gratitude for as all hearse:

Britney Spears` pop video `Oops I Did It Again` (2000) borrows its subject material from science fiction Grand Master Robert A. Heinlein (1907-88), Podkayne Of Mars (1963), a story about a young woman written as a juvenile entertainment for girls featuring the character Poddy, who was herself based on Puddin`, a teenager created by Robert Heinlein for the story `Poor Daddy` in the magazine, Calling All Girls (1949), where she explains that it doesn`t suit Puddin` that her mother `ice-skates` with other men and so her daddy had faked a `fishing trip` to learn how. In `Oops I Did It Again` a spaceman arrives, `Mars Lander`, in a spacesuit typical of those worn by the Apollo astronauts of the NASA space program and almost identical to that used by Neil Armstrong on July 20 1969 (UTC) as `the first man on the moon`. He looks incongruous beside her as she dances unfettered by a suit but the representative Apollo astronaut is there as a reminder:


`To what extent civilization is retarded by the laughing jack-asses, the empty-headed belittlers.`1



 Have Space Suit - Will Travel (1958) was a juvenile entertainment written primarily for boys, and features a protagonist, Kip, who refurbishes an old spacesuit he calls `Oscar` before an encounter with a spaceship containing Peewee, a girl, and the `Mother Thing`, an alien. The spacesuit comes in handy as Kip appears before a cosmic jury defending the Earth:


`The Mother Thing and a representative of another race argue that the short-lived species are essentially children who should be granted more time to learn and grow.`2



 In `Oops I Did It Again`, the `Oscar` has come looking for Britney Spears, as they say in Hollywood. She descends to her stage set inside a giantess` for `Spears` ring, because its first `Grand Master`, Robert A.   In `Oops I Did It Again` there`re three central characters, the spaceman, that is, `Mars Lander`, and Britney Spears in her red pilot`s suit, because `Poddy` in the girls` juvenile novel, Podkayne Of Mars, which is also set on the `red planet`, wanted to fly spacecraft. Britney Spears in a white bikini dress, who the camera of `Mission Control, attached to the spacehelmet of the astronaut, is able to film, is `the Poddy beautiful`, which is how Podkayne is described in Heinlein`s novel, and she places the hook of her `fisher king` in the spaceman`s backpack to hoist him up where he can see the `Mother Thing` who sings about her `baby`, the Earth:

  The `Mother Thing` won`t allow anything to cloud her judgement. At one point in the video we hear, `All aboard!` The ship motif is explained when Britney Spears` spaceman gives her a gift, `But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end?` He replies, `Well baby I went down and got it for you.` There doesn`t seem to be a catch on the small black box, so Britney Spears` hook in her spaceman`s back to support his suit must be a clasp for the necklace belonging to the `heart of the ocean`, from the movie, Titanic (1997), that is, a blue diamond pendant in the shape of a heart dropped into the sea by surviving passenger, Rose, at the place where the Titanic ship sank in 1911 after it hit an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Liverpool, England, to New York, USA, in remembrance.



 In symbolic terms, the spaceman of Britney Spears` `Oops I Did It Again` is suing the `Mother Thing` for mercy. In the Hollywood movie, Titanic, Rose is betrayed by a suitor who frames a new boyfriend for theft by placing the `heart of the ocean` in his pocket. It`s still there when the ship sinks and the men are depicted throwing the women from the lifeboats so they can survive. I did it again to your heart.` But the scene of Britney Spears, in her red pilot`s suit as `the Poddy beautiful` of Heinlein`s Mars` `future history` alongside herself in a white bikini dress that might conceal her `futanarian` penis `seed`, is more believable to the `mother things` of the human species too:


 `.. people who will not take the trouble to raise children should not have them.`3



 In the novel Podkayne Of Mars `Poddy` and her brother, Clarke, are kidnapped, because Tom, their uncle, is a politico. Poddy is killed at the end by Clarke`s detonation of an atomic bomb to foil the criminals. As an avatar of Puddin`, `Poddy` is also Maureen from Robert A. Heinlein`s final novel, To Sail Beyond The Sunset, because Puddin` was Maureen Wilson.  As is usually the case in works by Robert A. Heinlein most synopses and literary criticism are directed at his liberal treatment of incest, rather than conducting a critique of the theme, which recurs throughout his later works. Especially those featuring the `continua car`, Gay Deciever, which curiosity of spelling probably means `I who am ever deceptive`, and those which include Heinlein`s longest lived and reputedly wisest character, the albeit immortal, Lazarus Long. In her red pilot`s suit on her red planet of Mars in the video for the single `Oops I Did It Again` (2000) Britney Spears is making a science fiction statement, which begins, `Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah -` because the spaceman who has arrived looking like an Apollo 11 astronaut in his spacesuit is meant to be understood as `trooper in training`, Juan `Johnny` Rico, from Robert A. Heinlein`s (1907-88) novel for boys, Starship Troopers (1959), in which `the boys` are dropped onto `the Bug` worlds by females piloting spaceships who are known as their `mothers`:


`Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah,

yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah [Rico] -`


 Jericho was the city in Canaan, the land given to the `chosen people` by God, according to the Bible, because it was promised to the Jews. Because it`s only possible to be born a Jew from a Jewess only women are Jews, which is in accordance with God`s observation to Eve that her `seed` and the `serpent`s seed` will have `perpetual enmity` but she `will crush the head of the serpent as she leaves` (Gen: 3. 15) Earth for a `new heaven and Earth`. In her red pilot`s suit on Mars Britney Spears is in `heaven above` from a science fiction point of view, and she has a companion, in a white bikini dress, who duets with herself and looks as if she`s her twin:


`You see my problem is this: I'm dreaming away wishing that heroes, they truly exist. I cry, watching the days. Can't you see I'm a fool in so many ways? But to lose all my senses, that is just so typically me.`



 Jericho was built during the Age of the Crab, which is the sign of the Great Mother, Cancer, who has a hard shell to protect her `arthropod` body, which is soft, and so city and boat building were associated with the crab of the mother who protected her `arthropod` soft-bodies within, lest the women lose thir `senses` over heroic imagos in her fantasies that would in reality kill her. In Robert A. Heinlein`s Starship Troopers (1997), the movie,`the Bugs` are finally seen as `arthropods`, because it`s a science fictional metaphor for how civilization, culture and art emerges from the host womb of woman as the human species to be devoured by her parasites that have somehow attached themselves to her penis in order to replicate.



 Although audiences are familiar with camera trickery, there`s a very serious point being made as Britney Spears attaches a hook to the astronaut`s backpack and hoists him up above herself in a white bikini dress so that he can film her with the camera attached to his spacehelmet as she lies beneath. Woman with her own penis` `seed` is `futanarian` and, although Britney Spears` penis can` t be seen under her bikini`s skirt, she could be self-reproductive because there are two of her in the picture she`s painted:


`All aboard!`



 A ship being announced seems incongruous because there`s no sign of a vessel. But the subject of discourse is Cancer, the Great Mother, whose symbol is the crab and who`s associated with the hard outer shell of the boat and the city walls. Looking at the `gift`, the NASA (North American Space Administration) astronaut has given her, Britney says:


`But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end?`



 In the movie Titanic (1997) the heroine Rose drops the heart-shaped pendant, the blue diamond `heart of the ocean`, into the sea at the place where the ship sank after hitting an iceberg on its maiden voyage in 1912 from Liverpool, England, to New York harbor in the United States of America, where `Liberty` was waiting. Rose, played by Kate Winslet, as a young woman, is now old. She drops the diamond at the sight of the passenger liner`s being salvaged in memory of lost hope:


`Well baby I went down and got it for you.`



 Britney Spears` spaceman says he`s a diver. Because Robert A. Heinlein worked on pressure suits at the Philadelphia Navy Yard`s in 1944 with Isaac Asimov, who wrote the story collection,  I, Robot (1951), which was made into a movie by Hollywood, Babylon in 2004, and condemned slavery for robots because they represent freedom from drudgery for humans. Sprague De Camp was the `scifi writer` who believed there was no such thing as racism, which was `ethnocentricism`:


`... no scholar comparing the merits of various ethnicities has ever sought to prove that his own ethnicity was inferior to others.`2



 Because men have hijacked civilization, culture and art away from women as the host womb of her own penis` `seed`, L. Sprague De Camp`s own `ethnocentric` explanation for conflict is a blinders` shield for men`s perpetration of racism aginst women as a species, while telling her they`re superior due to the male penis` uniqueness. The different civilizations, cultures and arts devoured by men in the `perpetual enmity` of their wars against `woman`s seed` are men`s obfuscations of their own parasitical behavioural patterns that occlude women from realizing their own uniqueness as an intgral species independent of their ensalver and devourer.



 In the 1950s Robert Heinlein was famous for juveniles, amongst which was the novel, Have Space Suit - Will Travel (1958), and the astronaut reporting to `Mission Control` in Britney Spears` `Oops I Did It Again`, `Oxygen 98%`, is wearing one of the Philadelphia Navy Yard`s suits developed from the `scifi` writers` work for the X-15 spaceplane pilots who experienced blackouts during high altitude flights that often resulted in crashes. In her red pilot`s suit Britney Spears is a deep sea divers` encouragement to aspire to the planets and stars.



 In the developmental psychology of Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) the sea is a metaphor for the unconscious that contains the archetypes, imagery to be found in dreams, art and the imagination as inspirations to human progress and growth. The symbol of Cancer, the crab, is of the Great Mother as the boat and the city, as well as the spaceplane and the spacesuit, which is the archetype of defense for an arthropod, who has a soft belly:


`To the woman God said, `I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.`` (Gen: 3. 16)



 Couched as a punishment, the words seem prophetic. Because the woman is an arthropod, she needs the protection of God and Eden, but she`s given up for the `fruit of the knowledge of the tree of good and evil` for enslavement by the devourer, the serpent. Jesus` teachings of Redemption are of `woman`s seed`, because he`s born of his mother, the Virgin Mary, uncontaminated by male semen:

The male symbol is the spear and the female symbol is the shield, but women who are biune have their own penis, so they don`t need men`s spears. What `futanarian` woman with a penis` `seed` of her own needs is a stronger shield to withstand men`s spears, as Britney Spears sings of in her `Stronger` video single:

 Much has been said about demons but the esscence is of the alien parasite masquerading as the male of the human species choking woman`s penis to stop her breeding. In the Bible Cain slew Abel because he could cook and Cain wanted only to choose the best fruit from the branches of the tree, which is what men who don`t want to develop do, and that`s why Jeannie says, `without `magic` they`ll die because she needs some to `cook`, that is, develop spaceflight, so she can escape. Heinlein`s Starship Troopers without proper analysis of its meaning for women as an arthropod species in need of her own armour through the `tank` and `logic` of Murray Leinster`s independent home research centre, that is, the uncesnored internet, because `futanarian` woman with her own penis` `seed` and capacity for socio-economic independence through the breeding of her own brainpwer to develop technology and escape from  her enslaving and devouring parasites is occluded, men are the dictatorship of the alien to the human species, which is what Saddam Hussein`s support for Al Qaeda`s terrorist `airplane` program meant.  Hollywood, Babylon, in the movie World Trade Centre (2005), used the events of September 11, 2001, to put more bums on seats for cash.  A pretty good investment for Babylon, and no `Mystery`.

 If men don`t stop `dumbing down` the human species of `woman`s seed`, trees will still bear fruit but only for cave dwellers. Blackouts prevented the NASA `spaceplane` program from continuing, perhaps because of `demonic possession` by the spirits of men who didn`t want women to escape to the planets and stars in starships of their own devising, but the cancellation of the `spaceplane` meant the evolution of the rocket as missile or `spear`, rather than the feminine vessel as `shield`.

 Jesus` bowl is the Holy Grail of Arthurian legend, that is, the legend of how King Arthur of the Briton`s knights protected the bodies of the women, that is, the `bods` of Arthur, or the `arthropods`, as they quested for the inspirational archetype of the Holy Grail. Jesus was the host offering `bread and wine` to the disciples` fellowship, rather than his `body and blood`, because he didn`t want to die. Christ`s bowl is a vessel because it represents the host womb of the species` woman, symbolized by Jesus` mother, the Virgin Mary, who was Christ`s `host`. The vessel of the Holy Grail is symbolic of the host, because it represents the womb of the human species, and the shield she needs from Jesus Christ`s teachings to protect her:


`Leave her alone.` (Mk: 14. 6)


 Britney Spears` `Oops I Did It Again` is her species` appeal because her spaceman is just another protoypical enslaver of `woman`s seed` and arthropod devourer; as Robert A. Heinlein`s Starship Troopers demonstrates. The `mother`s boys` in their powered armour drop onto `the Bugs`, who are her own soft-bodied arthropods in extrapolation, to kill the queen. Because she`s a `hard case` who, like Britney Spears with the newspapermen of New York, needs to know enough to protect her own head when `It` thinks `It` might  reign.

Podkayne`s Eon Economics and Britney Spears` `Oops I Did It Again`


The theory of the economist John Maynard Keynes said that the `free market` would strengthen the economies of Western Europe by applying the pressures associated with `supply and demand` to manufacturing industry and retail businesses, because industry would supply what people demanded. Applied in Britain and the European Union, Keynes` `free market` approach to economic growth was known as `Keynesian` economics. In her video single `Oops I Did It Again` (2000) Britney Spears examines `Podkaynesian economics`.



 Podkayne Of Mars (1963) was a juvenile novel written for girls by the first `Grand Master` of science fiction, Robert A. Heinlein (1907-88), which featured a young woman who wanted to be a space pilot. Known as `Poddy` for short, and described as `the Poddy beautiful`, Podkayne`s name was a pun on the `pod` theme of science fiction as well as the name of Cain, who was responsible for killing his brother, Abel, in the Bible story, because Abel could cook and so was too able for Cain, who wanted an easier life picking fruits, which is what murderers do.



 The big three science fiction writers of Heinlein`s era were himself, Isaac Asimov, and Arthur C. Clarke. Heinlein`s publisher objected to the ending and subsequent reprints featured a resurrected Poddy. Arthur C. Clarke was British and Heinlein`s publishers may`ve been observing that his government hadn`t been responsible for the deaths of all those Japanese women at Nagasaki and Hiroshima when the Americans dropped `fat man` and `little boy`, the atomic bombs, that ended WWII (1939-45) and erased those two cities of Japan along with its schoolgirls as `collateral damage`.



 In the video single for `Oops I Did It Again` Britney Spears` argument is that, although a murderer says `Oops!` he has a mark of Cain, according to the Bible, which is why he does it - a Cain. Britney`s thesis is that Clarke kills the young Poddy because that`s his nature.  The Mars of `Oops I Did It Again` is a desert, which is what atomic bombs leave after them. Britney Spears literary reference is T. S. Eliot`s The Wasteland (1922) poem, Part One `The Burial Of The Dead`, so the opening line from `Oops I Did It Again` is a homage to the `Guardian Angels`, a worldwide volunteer group, who act to maintain `public safety` and wear a red beret.
